Polaris Redesigns Website(s)

The company says that the new Pure Polaris website makes it faster and easier for riders to find accessories and apparel, with more information about the products. Customers can choose from among several ways to search for everything from windshields to plows and full cab enclosures.

The site displays the most up-to-date lists of vehicles, making it easy for consumers to search only for accessories that fit their ride. Accessories can be found according to product type (performance, comfort, cargo, etc.) or by the vehicle model name or model year.

In addition, there are maintenance guides that will help riders care for and better understand their vehicles, and convenient links that provide access to owner’s manuals and safety and service bulletins. There are also links between Pure Polaris pages and the Polaris and Victory vehicle information pages so consumers can research a vehicle and accessories at the same time.

"Our new website gives customers what they’ve asked for: more information that’s easier to find through simple search tools,” Scott Swenson, vice president/general manager of the PG&A and Snowmobile Division, says in a press release. “We also significantly enhanced the vehicle fit information to ensure it’s clear to customers which accessories fit their specific vehicles.”

The Pure Polaris website gives riders 24/7 access to detailed product information, and after researching products online, a rider can order PG&A directly from Polaris or take a list of part numbers to a dealership. According to Polaris, the new website features:
  • Easy Navigation and Product Searches: Customers can search for Pure Polaris products by product type, by vehicle model name or model year, or by vehicle family.
  • Easy-to-Find Vehicle Info: There are convenient links between vehicle information pages and pages featuring Pure Polaris accessories for those vehicles.
  • Easy Vehicle Customization: The Polaris and Victory "Customizer" tool lets customers customize virtual 2010 and 2011 models online. The “Customizer” shows how selected accessories look installed on vehicles, and a list of the accessories can be printed and brought to a dealership.
  • Parts & Maintenance: Riders will find FAQs about maintenance procedures, quick reference guides, and videos. There are also links to online parts catalogs, vehicle safety and service bulletins, and the Pure Polaris Oil website.

Crutchlow Tests Yamaha YZR-M1 MotoGP Bike

First Taste: Cal Crutchlow Tests Yamaha YZR-M1 MotoGP Bike
October 22, 2010 at 12:17 pm by Matthew Miles

Yamaha Sterilgarda World Superbike pilot Cal Crutchlow rode a Yamaha YZR-M1 for the first time at Yamaha’s test track in Fukuroi, Japan, this past week.
“There is a lot of power, but it feels very useable,” said Crutchlow, fifth overall and Rookie of the Year in WSB. “It felt very different to a production-based machine in terms of its delivery.
“In the wet, we used the normal steel brakes, but when it started to dry, I had a chance to try the carbon ones, which were cool. I managed to get quite comfortable with them.
“I found the chassis very stiff; it was really easy to change direction. And the electronics were really different, even more advanced than the high level I’m used to in Superbike.”
Crutchlow will participate in the MotoGP test in Valencia, Spain, on November 9-10 in preparation for his first season in Grand Prix racing’s premier class alongside two-time WSB champion Colin Edwards at Tech3 Yamaha.

Minneapolis, Oct 20, 2010– A RANGER RZR 4, piloted by Polaris Regional Sales Manager Matt Parks, took first place both days and first overall, in the Pro UTV Class, at the Best In The Desert, Blue Water Desert Challenge this past weekend, in Parker, Arizona.

The Holz-built RANGER RZR 4, nicknamed the “Baja Bobsled,” worked flawlessly and was victorious over 18 other UTVs, one of the largest UTV entries in premier desert racing in some time. Parks and co-pilot Polaris District Sales Manager Bryce Wernsman endured limited visibility from dust and unbelievably deep silt areas on the track that the RANGER RZR 4 hammered through with no problem.

“This was our first race for the newly-built race RANGER RZR 4,” said Parks. “The car ran great both days and it was really fast, particularly in the rough. It was a great weekend and a fantastic outcome.”

The race RANGER RZR 4 was made possible by Walker Evans Racing, Holz Racing Products, Maxxis Tires (zero flats), Mastercraft Safety, Kroyer Racing Engines, Utendorfer Graphics, Muzzys, PURE Polaris Lubricants, the WWCBG, and was supported by the Baja Bobsled Chase Team (Bill Abshier of Valley Cycle Motorsports, Jason Spiess, Todd Douglass, and Danny Flowers).

Scooters are Fun Too!!!

Chris Everett from Washington sends this message with his pictures:

"I mainly use you guys for the little Suzuki FA50 mopeds that I always seem to find at garage sales and such. Those little scooters make the best birthday presents. Here are some pics of bikes restored using your parts. Ive also included a pic of my restored 1963 Nethercutt Trailbreaker MK II, very cool & rare bike."

Thanks for sending the pictures along with your email, Chris. You have a great collection, especially the Nethercutt Trailbreaker! Most people don't know that the Trailbreaker is actually a two-wheel drive off-road motorcycle. Not very fast, but I bet it's a blast in the Washington woodlands!
